ECONOMY OF SELANGOR
Launching Smart Selangor to transform the state of Selangor to be a regional state and the center of ‘Perindustrian Malaysia 4.0.
Based on ‘Kekayaan Selangor kepada Rakyat’, it is estimated that more than 50% of the state budget goes into spending on development for the rakyat and not on operating expenses for the government.
Returning water concession, Air Selangor, back to the rakyat by an acquisition process – taking over assets and operations from Puncak Niaga Holdings Berhad.
SOCIAL JUSTICE
People Care – more than 40 initiatives were implemented to address social inequality and to assist those who are destitute in Selangor, from the young to the old, covering a range of areas including education, health, cost of living and affordable housing.
Health Care – An allocation of RM500 a year for primary health care is made available at private clinics throughout Selangor for families that fall in the low income bracket. This is a first in Malaysia
Smart Selangor Mother’s Love (KISS) – a pilot scheme to assist low-income mothers to address the rising cost of living. RM2400 a year or RM200 a month will be provided for these mothers to purchase necessities.
In 2016, poverty dropped to 0.0% under Azmin Ali’s purview.
STRATEGIC LITIGATION
To demand for the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to bring international fugitive Jho Low back to Malaysia to face justice concerning the 1MDB scandal.
To demand the Auditor General and Prime Minister Najib Razak to produce an Auditor General’s report on 1MDB by releasing it from the Official Secrets Act.
Initiate a judicial review on the Election Commission’s controversial proposal of resetting the election boundaries in Selangor – an action that has delayed the work and languished the whole of Peninsular Malaysia in obscurity for more than a year.
MODERATION
- Cancelled the controversial KIDEX Skyway project.
- Facilitate with the return of Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Iban bibles.
- Returned 351 bibles that were confiscated to the Association of Churches in Sarawak (ACS). The State of Selangor plays an exemplary role when it comes to values concerning moderation and justice.
