IMPLEMENTATION OF POLICIES

RM9 BILLION ALLOCATED

FOR DEVELOPMENT INVOLVING:

  • Six lesser developed States; Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Sabah and Sarawak

  • Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) and East Coast Economic Region (ECRL)

IMPLEMENTATION OF INVESTMENTS IN ECONOMIC REGIONS WITH A COMMITTED ALLOCATION AMOUNTING TO RM78.66 BILLION. RM47.44 BILLION WORTH OF INVESTMENTS WERE REALISED, WHICH AS A RESULT PRODUCED

JOB OPPORTUNITIES. THE ECONOMIC REGIONS ARE:

  • Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER)

  • East Coast Economic Region

  • Iskandar Malaysia (IM)

  • Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy

RM23.34 BILLION ALLOCATED

FOR RURAL AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. THIS INVOLVES:

  • 295 projects relating to rural roads and rural connectivity, water supply, electricity supply as well as programs related to social amenities

  • 2,362 projects relating to various sectors including; health care and community, rural development and community, and education

  • A specific allocation for 35 destitute schools in Sabah and Sarawak

  • A specific allocation for 614 facilities such as places of worship, community halls and roads

RM6.78 BILLION ALLOCATED

TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE IN THE AGRICULTURE SECTOR. THIS INVOLVES:

  • The Tabling of a White Paper in Parliament on the 10th of April 2019; ‘Towards the Sustainability of FELDA’, whereby the government addressed issues at hand by reducing debt, providing grants, loans, government guarantees and more

  • Introducing programmes and assistance such as rubber replanting programmes and assistance in improving productivity of smallholders under RISDA

  • Implementation of ‘Smart Farming’

  • The disbursement of higher dividends by FELCRA Berhad in 2019

  • Providing assistance under the Monsoon Season Aid scheme in 2019

THE ALLOCATION OF RM356.14 MILLION

FOR THE PURPOSE OF A MORE INCLUSIVE GROWTH TO ADDRESS POVERTY

  • Capacity building program and Capability programs for Specific Target Groups

  • Empowerment and Development of the Indigenous Community

  • PUSH; a social entrepreneur programme that aims to grow Social Enterprises

  • Empowerment and Development of the Indian Community

  • Finance to improve and enhance Kampung Baru Cina

  • KIDA; a programme to assist mothers from poor and hardcore poor groups in Kedah

STRENGTHENING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE

HALAL INDUSTRY

  • Created a economic partnership between Malaysia and South Korea based on Look East Policy 2.0

  • The restructuring and enhancement of the halal industry via Halal Development Corporation Berhad (MPIH)

REFINING THE PROCESS FOR DECISION MAKING THROUGH

MODERNISATION AND STATISTICAL INNOVATION

  • Providing public access to the MyLocal Stats 2.0 application

  • Launch of Malaysia Business Cycle Clock (MBCC) and Trade by Enterprise Characteristic (TEC)

IMPLEMENTATION OF PROGRAMS AND

STRENGTHENING INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

  • Organising programmes related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

  • Strategic cooperation with the agencies of the United Nations and the World Bank

  • Strengthening bilateral relations between Malaysia and Russia

  • Cooperation initiative between Brunei Darussalam – Indonesia – Malaysia – Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA)

RECOGNISING THE ROLE OF BUMIPUTERA PARTICIPATION IN THE PREPARATION FOR RMK-12 AND WKV2030 AND

ALLOCATING RM5.879 BILLION TO EMPOWER BUMIPUTERA

  • TERAJU - the strategic unit to spearhead progress through meaningful, resilient and sustainable Bumiputera economic participation

  • Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera (YPPB)- an agency under TERAJU with a mandate to build and increase talents among Bumiputeras in line with the efforts to upgrade Malaysia to a high-income nation through academic education, professional certification and vocational training

  • Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad (PHB) - a real estate investment holding company that aims to boost Bumiputera ownership of prime commercial real estate assets in Malaysia

  • Facilitation Fund under Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER)
